Frequently Asked Cleaning Questions
Carpet Cleaning FAQs
- What method do you use for carpet cleaning?
Utilizing professional-grade, truck mounted equipment we first inject heated water along with a pH-balancing fiber rinse into the carpet under high pressure in order to thoroughly rinse out our special heat activated carpet cleaning solution. This process effectively removes all built-in dirt, bacteria, dust mites and odors from your carpet.
- What should I do to prepare my home before the crew arrives?
While it isn't required, we strongly recommend that you thoroughly vacuum the areas needing to be cleaned prior to our arrival. We will only move any light, non-breakable and safe to move furniture. We cannot move very large or heavy items. We also ask that you remove any knick knacks to ensure no damage accidentally occurs.
- How long will it take to clean my carpets?
At T.A.C.T. Cleaning, we understand that you have places to go and people to see. That is why we typically spend approximately 20 minutes per room. Please note, however, that this time is only an estimate and that it depends on several variables including the condition of your carpets and how much furniture needs to be moved.
- How long will it take for my carpets to dry?
Dry time is based on a collection of factors including ventilation, relative humidity and temperature, carpet thickness as well as which methods were used. You can typically anticipate your carpets drying within the first 8 to 24 hours, depending on the aforementioned factors.
- Why is professional carpet cleaning so important?
Although you may regularly vacuum your carpets once or twice a week; it is simply not enough. You carpet may be harboring a lot of unseen pet dander, hair, dirt, dust mites, and, unfortunately, bacteria. Most of which your vacuum doesn't even touch. Professional carpet cleaning will provide you with the sanitizing clean you demand.
Tile & Grout Cleaning FAQs
- Why should I have my tile and grout professionally cleaned?
Your tile surfaces, over time, may begin to harbor microorganisms that can be quite harmful to your health. In addition, without proper care, the attractiveness of these surfaces will be diminished in appearance. A thorough, and effective, tile and grout cleaning can reverse all of this and leave your surfaces looking rejuvenated.
- What method do you use?
We use the same two-step process and advanced equipment that we utilize to deep clean your carpet. We use specialized cleaning solutions that have been designed to effectively remove any waxy buildup and dirt between your grout lines. This is then followed up by an application of high-quality grout sealer.
- How often should I go between cleanings?
We highly recommend that you have your tile and grout professional cleaned at least once every year or two. This recommendation, however, is dependent on several factors including foot traffic, children, pets and routine floor maintenance. You should clean your floors once or twice a week using a pH-balancing cleanser.
- How long will it take for my tile floor to be cleaned?
An average size room – we’re talking 300 square feet – typically requires 30 to 60 minutes to clean. This again is dependent on the condition of your flooring and room configurations. If you opt-in for our high-quality sealant, it typically adds on a few extra minutes per room.
- How long do I have to stay off the floor after cleaning?
With your safety at the forefront of our minds, we recommend that you wait a minimum 30 minutes before walking on your tile flooring. Keep in mind, however, that it may take 24 to 48 hours for the sealant to completely cure. During this time, you should refrain from spilling any liquids on the area.
Upholstery Cleaning FAQs
- Why is professional upholstery cleaning so important?
Since we can’t all live in a bubble, in order to remain healthy, it is important to ensure our homes are as free from harmful microorganisms as possible. This is why professional upholstery cleaning is so important. Especially when you consider just how much time we, our children and our pets spend in our furniture's comforting embrace.
- How often should upholstered furniture be cleaned?
According to the American Home Furnishings Alliance, your investment should be properly taken care of, to ensure that its upholstery doesn't become soiled to the point of no return (visible changes in the fabric’s color or texture). Homeowners should typically have their upholstery cleaned every 18 to 24 months.
- My furniture says “dry clean only.” Can it still be professionally cleaned?
Yes, it most certainly can. Upon our arrival to your home or office, we will first run a fabric test, in order to determine which cleaning method and solution are best for your particular fabric. The manufactures recommendation for “dry clean only,” may unfortunately provide you with ineffective cleaning results.
